Why compare two versions
When a contract, price list, policy, thesis or quotation comes back revised, the important question is: what changed? Reading both versions side by side is slow and it is easy to miss a changed number or a removed sentence. Compare PDF checks the pages for you.
How it works
Choose exactly two PDFs — the original first and the updated version second; drag them in the list to change the order. Up to 100 pages per PDF are compared. The tool compares each page's text, its page size, and how the page looks, and creates a PDF report showing the number of pages in each file and which pages changed.
Reading the report
Use the report as a map: it points you to the pages that differ, so you can read those pages carefully in both files. Pages that are identical in text and appearance can be skipped. Metadata, form behaviour and links are not compared.
Common problems and how to fix them
Every page shows as changed: a page was added or removed near the start, shifting all later pages — compare the page counts and check where the shift begins. Scanned PDFs: their text cannot be compared until OCR is run, so only appearance is compared — use OCR PDF on both first. “Choose exactly two PDFs”: remove extra files from the list.
Good habits
Keep clear version names such as v1 and v2, always put the original first, and confirm important changes by reading the actual pages.
