    About Split PDF

When is it useful? Split PDF breaks a big PDF into smaller ones — for example to send only one chapter, separate each student's pages, or meet an upload limit.

Good to know: choose “Every page” to get one PDF per page, or “Custom ranges” such as 1-3, 4-6, 7- to make one PDF for each range. Pages are copied without any loss of quality, and the files are downloaded together in a ZIP, or one by one from the file list.

Example: a scanned 30-page file contains three separate application forms of 10 pages each. Choose Custom ranges and type 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, and you get three PDFs in one ZIP, ready to upload to the right place.

    Tips for Better Results

    • Use “Every page” to get one PDF per page.
    • Type ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, 7- to make one file for each range.
    • To keep only some pages in one file, use Extract PDF Pages.

    Guide

    Split PDF: a complete guide

    Why split a PDF

Large PDFs are hard to share and often contain more than the receiver needs. Splitting lets you send only one chapter, separate the pages of different people, stay under an upload limit, or turn a bundle of scanned forms back into individual documents.

    How the two modes work

“Every page” creates one PDF for each page. “Custom ranges” creates one PDF for each range you type, separated by commas — for example 1-3, 4-6, 7- (the last range runs to the end). Pages are copied without any change in quality, and all the new files download together in one ZIP, or one by one from the file list.

    Split, extract or delete?

Use Split PDF when you want several output files. Use Extract PDF Pages when you want one new file containing only certain pages. Use Delete PDF Pages when you want the same file without some pages.

Common problems and how to fix them

“Not a valid page range”: use numbers, hyphens and commas only, such as 2-5, 9. A range is outside the document: check the total page count in your PDF viewer. You cannot find the files: open the downloaded ZIP — on phones, use the Files app to unzip it.

    Good habits

Write down the page ranges before splitting, give the output files clear names, and keep the original complete PDF.
