Good to know: the document is laid out on A4 pages and each page becomes a JPG of about 1190 × 1680 pixels. Text, headings, lists, tables and pictures are drawn; complex layouts, text boxes and special fonts may look different from Word. Old .doc files must be saved as .docx first.

    Guide

DOCX to JPG: a complete guide

Why turn a document into pictures

Word documents cannot be previewed in many chat apps, on social media or on some phones. A JPG of each page can be seen instantly by anyone — useful for notices, posters, menus, invitations, certificates and resume previews.

    What happens when you convert

The .docx file is read in your browser: text, headings, lists, tables and pictures are laid out on A4 pages. Each page is saved as a JPG of about 1190 × 1680 pixels, named with its page number. Multi-page documents download as one ZIP containing all the pictures, or one by one from the file list.

What looks the same and what may differ

Normal paragraphs, headings, tables and inline pictures come out close to Word. Text boxes, shapes, WordArt, multiple columns, headers and footers and special fonts may look different or be left out. If the layout must be perfect, export a PDF from Word and use PDF to JPG.

Common problems and how to fix them

A font changed: use a common font such as Arial or Calibri. A picture is missing: it may be a floating picture or a shape — set it to “In line with text” in Word. The file will not open: old .doc files are not supported; save as .docx first.

    Good habits

Use simple, single-column layouts for documents meant to be shared as pictures, check each page picture before posting, and keep the .docx for edits.
